CONCEPT
The project harmoniously integrates itself within the landscape, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Aegean Sea from every room. Its accessible roof functions as a lush garden, seamlessly blending with the surrounding topography.
Additionally, two planted giardinieras divide the front pool terrace of the house into three distinct areas ensuring greater privacy and further protecting from the wind.
An essential consideration when constructing in the Cyclades is addressing the Meltemi wind and providing adequate shading. In response to this, a series of curved stone courtyards were designed using wind analysis software to deflect the wind, creating three sheltered lounge areas within the front terraces.

INTERNAL SPACE
Internally, the main house is divided into three clusters, all situated on the same level to ensure a fluid navigation through the spaces.
The central area houses the communal spaces, while two wings on either side contain the guest rooms. This arrangement provides a great level of flexibility whether the house is only occupied by the owner out of season or fully occupied in the summer with guests or family.

On the northern side, the master bedroom quarter is composed of a large flexible space that includes the master bedroom, a dressing and the master bathroom. The terrace includes a built-in Jacuzzi nested within a curved stone wall to provide both visual and wind protection. The southern side is composed of a series of three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and an outdoor loggia.
The residence includes a separate guest house on an upper level that includes terraces with sea views. It is featuring a large flexible space that can be subdivided according to the owner’s desire as well as an en-suite bathroom.
The guest house can function independently from the main house, as it has direct access from the parking area. Attached to the guest house there is an additional studio with a private entrance that could be used for the housekeepers.
Additionally, the residence includes a dedicated gym space that is accessible from the pool terrace.

FINISHES
Eolya blends the use of traditional construction methods and local materials with cutting edge digital craft techniques which enabled the realisation of unique elements of the house.
The house makes uses of locally sourced materials such as Naxos marbles, terrazzo flooring, Votsaloto, mineral renders and stone sourced from the local marble industry instead of importing industrial products from abroad reducing the carbon footprint of the house.
